Untextury Texture Pack: Water, Drops & Dew

Hey there, if you're new here, you may wanna grab the RSS feed for fresh stuff as soon as it's up. Enjoy your stay.

The magic of shooting textures is in seeing them beyond the realm of the expected, finding new ways of looking at matter and the world.

In this spirit, here are 12 textures from the least “textury” material of all — water.

You’re browsing in quick-glance gallery view — click the post permalink for a larger view of the textures, more detail on each, and to download the full-size version of individual ones if you don’t want the whole pack.

First up, one of my all-time favorite textures found in the most unexpected place of all: the office. Tiny droplets of condensation on the inside of the watercooler, reflecting some of the type on its label, lit perfectly by the afternoon sun:

More accidental condensation, this time found on the back of my fridge:

…and another view of it, lit warmly by the little fridge door light.

And here’s a rained-on vine leaf:

A dew-covered carboard box lying on the sidewalk early in the morning:

The reflection of the tiles on Philadelphia’s Market Street Bridge in the river below:

Finally, something shot a little differently: The reflection of a Baliense sunset in the ocean, shot aerially, zooming in from above:
