Texture Pack: Letters & Numbers
Hey there, if you're new here, you may wanna grab the RSS feed for fresh stuff as soon as it's up. Enjoy your stay.
Fourteen interesting textures with “real-life” letter and number characters.
I love old signs, industrial text and any kind of “real-life” textured type. Originally, I was planning on collecting the entire alphabet and all numbers before posting a texture pack, but then, well, let’s just say I don’t have the gene for patience. So I decided to share what I have so far and add more stuff periodically as I shoot it. (To make sure you don’t miss it, grab our RSS feed.)
As usual, texture pack at the bottom. Enjoy.

First up, the gorgeous embossed metal numbers on a set of dumbbells from the glory days of 70’s bodybuilding.
Next, the neat contrast between dark wood and aluminum on these numbered electricity posts somewhere in the Maryland countryside:
This one is actually part of what’s easily the biggest guerrilla art mystery of our time, the Toynbee Tiles movement. (You can read more about it here, it’s truly fascinating.) The plate, with its vivid colors and neatly cracked linoleum characters, looks even more stunning wet.
Worn red letters painted on a yellow sidewalk warning strip. (Too bad you can only spell “RAM,” “ARM” and “MAR” with them, ha.)
You may recall this one from the Rust texture pack:
The adidas logotype on a retro bag strap against white canvas. Love the richness of textures and colors in this one. Even the letters themselves are fuzzy:
I don’t usually shoot textures around noon when the sun is high and bright because it tends to wash out the detail, but it actually does just the opposite here — the sharp light/shadow contrast makes the stunning paint color pop even more and brings out the wonderful chipped, rusty detailing.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy. Be sure to grab our RSS feed and get fresh textures as soon as they’re up. And, comment away with raves, rants, thoughts, wish-lists, or just to say “Hey”.
